The Henry County Christmas Parade

2025 Parade Theme: HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Henry County’s beloved Christmas Parade and tree lighting will return Saturday, November 22, 2025, with a new route and festive traditions for the whole community.

Maumee Valley Civic Theater (MVCT) is honored to once again present this annual holiday celebration, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The parade will start at the intersection of West Main and West Perry streets, continue down Main Street, turn onto West Washington Street, and conclude in front of the Henry County Courthouse.

At the parade’s end, the newly crowned Snow Prince and Princess will be recognized, followed by the official lighting of the county’s Christmas tree.

“It’s essential to Maumee Valley Civic Theater to continue this time-honored tradition in Henry County, and what better way for the community to experience it than with the whole family before Thanksgiving,” said Jeffrey Tonjes, MVCT President.

Tonjes noted that moving the date closer to Thanksgiving creates a special holiday atmosphere. “It’s always been a goal of mine to have the tree light up along with the city lights, just like it was when I was growing up. Moving the date will help us accomplish that.”

MVCT has organized the parade for the past four years, carrying on the tradition after longtime organizers Roger and Kathy Hefflinger passed the torch. This year’s route change was made in consultation with local officials to ensure safety for parade participants and spectators.

“This great event brings Henry County together and sets the tone for the holiday season,” Tonjes said. “We encourage everyone to join in—whether you decorate a car, truck, trailer, or semi with lights and music, or walk the route handing out candy and cheer.”
